I was born in Argentina but have moved around from a very young age, growing up in Brazil and finalizing my high school years in Mexico. My multicultural background has provided me with a broad perspective on issues like environmentalism and the importance of community engagement in conservational efforts. I moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 2018 to begin my undergrad in molecular biology at the University of Calgary and quickly realized my passion for conservation and the low priority it held where I come from. I decided to switch my career to Zoology where I ended up focusing my efforts in entomology and conservational agriculture. Prior to my graduation I became a part of the Agriculture, Biodiversity and Conservation lab at the University of Calgary as a laboratory assistant where I was surrounded by like-minded individuals who enabled me to build on my skill set. Following my graduation I continued as a field technician in the ABC lab where I refined my field collection data analysis abilities. I also had the privilege of working alongside other ABC lab members on a review paper focusing on the efficiency of ground beetles as biological control agents in North America.

I am now joining the BGC centre as a field technician for the Map of Life Rapid Assessments team and am excited to not only apply my existing knowledge and expertise, but also to learn a myriad of new skills through practice and working alongside specialists who share similar interests. I will be focusing mainly on species identification and field data collection methods.
